I am currently a Distinguished Professor in the School of Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from National University of Singapore, M.Sc. in Computer Control and Automation from Nanyang Technological University, and B.Eng. in Automatic Control from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

My research spans a broad range of systems areas, including Internet of Things, mobile computing, ubiquitous computing, wireless networks, edge AI and embodied AI. In recent years, my work has increasingly centered on embodied intelligence and robotics—systems that seamlessly perceive, reason, and interact with the physical world.
